COLOR SAMPLER

Lots of scraps for this color sampler out of the Sunday Morning Quilts book by Amanda Jean Nyberg and Cheryl Arkison.  I finished it some time ago and finally dug it out of my stack of finished quilts to give away to yet another co-worker leaving.  Until I photographed it I did not realize how pretty it was or how many scraps one can save and dig out of all the corners and cubbies of ones stash.  I am thinking I might just have to make another one now that this one is gone.

GRANNY SQUARE QUILT

Last year I invested in Amy Gibson's Craftsy Twisted Irish Chain class.  I really liked this particular quilt in her class because of its modern twist.  It is headed next week as a gift for a lady that I hired a number of years ago to work for me first in our Preschool office, then eventually in our Middle School campus office.  She is leaving us to work in her husband's business office, as it has grown so much that he needs her full time to support his office needs.  I used Alison Glass Sun Prints and Field Day fabrics for the blocks and binding with a dark gray for the Irish chain.
Because it is Friday and not only is it finished but on its way to a new home I'm linking up with

MODERN TABLE RUNNER

I saw this picture recently in a post, and thought it was a perfect place to use these linen solid prints.  I think I might need to work a bit more on a random width of the strips.
It is definitely a Work in Progress so I am linking up with

Ricky Tims Class Ideas

My quilt guild hosted a three day Ricky Tims class about 18 months ago.  I learned a ton of new techniques, but have not really tried any until recently.  I finally decided to try my hand on a couple small table runners.  I also tried my hand at meandering.  I have a real problem with that technique.  I am feeling pretty good about these two pieces.  Since at last they are finally finished I am linking up with:

BABY HEARST AND STARS

A co-worker asked if I would make a quilt for her first grand baby due in August.  The color scheme was pink and gray.  Hearts and stars seemed like a fun choice too.  Scrappy quilts are always great projects.

USED UP THOSE FIG TREE SCRAPS

I had a bin full of Fig Tree scraps.  I don't think any one of them was larger than a fat quarter in size.  This quilt turned out to be huge.  I just kept sewing, and cutting, and sewing some more.  It has a home with a dear co-worker that is leaving and moving across the US.  Believe it or not, I still ended up with enough scraps to start another quilt, but I think I will finally be done with the last of the scraps after that.
Since I really did finish it up I am linking up with

BONNIE & CAMILLE MIXED FABRICS

I have a particular fondness of Bonnie & Camille by Moda fabrics. I started this particular quilt a while back with a mixture of a number of their fabric lines.  I had a pretty good start on it, but other things came along so it has been tucked away in a drawer in my quilt studio.  I've pulled it out this week thinking I should finish it.

HEART PILLOW

My granddaughter asked me if I would make a pillow out of her needlepoint heart, that she was giving to her boyfriend for his birthday.  Sure, Well, a bit of a different idea than I thought of for a heart pillow.  She is not a medical major in college, actually an English major.  Hmmm!
